This past weekend, three friends and I piled in the car at 7am on a rainy morning and left for Palm Springs. We were all excited to get out of the city and two hours later, we had escaped much more than the dreary weather – it felt like we were on a mini vacation, if only for the day. The goal was to squeeze in as much vintage furniture shopping* and indulgent meals (including date shakes at Hadley’s on the way out of town) as possible, which we did. I came home with a ’70s brass bar cart (and matching ice bucket), which I adore, but what I love most are the memories behind them that will carry over into our new home.

* Unfortunately I paid no attention to the places we actually shopped (and had luck, no less), so a round-up of my favorite stores will come after my next trip to Palm Springs.
