Ever since I made
(which, I must reiterate, were way harder than they looked), I’d been curious about other variations on the same idea. I decided to try out
this past weekend in the middle of a nearly six-hour-long
Mad Men
marathon. The process would have been much simpler had I used store-bought pie dough, but since that would have meant leaving to go out in the rain, I made it from scratch. It also would have been vastly improved by fresh berries, but I had frozen ones on hand, so I made do. The two-bite pies were the ideal complement to an afternoon spent on the couch, with plenty of napkins, blankets, and a big glass of milk.
