Entertaining Idea: Popcorn & Cocktails

Over the holidays, Geoffrey and I did a bit of shopping in San Francisco one day followed by a walk in one of my favorite areas (Hayes Valley). It was around four in the afternoon and I was hungry, but not ready for a full-on meal. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about an early bird special, but mid-afternoon is pushing it. So we stepped into Absinthe and ordered some fancy popcorn and cocktails. It was just enough to hold us over, but the concept was so fun and simple that I knew I’d want to replicate it at home. So for our first casual dinner party last week we made parmesan-thyme-black pepper popcorn and Manhattans to start. It only took a few minutes to throw together and was a creative departure from my typical cheese plate.

P.S. My other favorite entertaining idea: a donut and whiskey night.
