Before we had Sloan, G and I headed to my parents’ house up north every year for the holidays. While it’s just an hour-long plane ride, the climate feels like a world away from L.A., with heavy fog that rolls in in the mornings and stays till mid-afternoon. When I designed this coat, I kept that chilly climate in mind, with an oversized plaid in a punchy red hue that feels festive, but still appropriate after the holidays.
