Spring can sometimes feel like a throwaway season in L.A. Because we don’t experience dramatic swings in temperature, it often slips right by. This year, I’m making more of an effort to embrace the warmer temperatures, blossoming flowers, and excitement for endless beach days. Part of that means dressing the part, which coincidentally, I’m more than eager to do because of this season’s foremost trends. I try not to indulge in trends too much, as they can come and go, but when they’re sensible and stylish, I really can’t resist. Here are some of the trends I’m most excited to try this season:
I’m the first to admit that the millennial pink trend is very self-affirming since it’s basically the go-to color for our brand. But lavender feels like such an improvement—it’s still feminine but feels like the more mature version of a youthful pink. I wouldn’t go so far as to buy a pair of shoes or sweater in this color (yet), but I’d love to accent my outfits with lavender accessories like this pouch or these earrings.
Ok, white pants may not be the most sensible thing in the world, especially given my propensity to leave remnants of what I eat on my clothing, but they are sensible in that they match with nearly anything. I’ve found a pair that is particularly comfortable and lightweight enough for the climbing temperatures in L.A. but below are some other options that work well for both casual and professional settings, especially when paired with this easy blouse.
I’ve really been leaning into these functional yet stylish mules but am ready to invest in another pair with open toe. Mules are not only office-appropriate (in my book, that means little-to-no toe cleavage) but incredibly comfortable and breathable due to the open back. I often like to dress the way I decorate my home – in serene, soothing tones. That doesn’t mean that I won’t incorporate color, I just limit the number of different colors I might employ which means rainbow is not an expected trend for me to adopt. However, just as spring can bring about new colors in the form of fruit, flowers, and more dramatic sunsets, my outfits can take on a bit more flair with subdued (like this predominantly black and white striped tee) or in-your-face rainbow schemes (like these sparkly heels).

I’ve been gravitating towards neutral ensembles lately because it’s hard to go wrong with them, but they can sometimes feel uninspired. Gingham is a great way to introduce a pattern into an overall neutral (or not) outfit without making it feel too busy. Plus it’s a nod to picnic blankets and tablecloths which is exactly what spring is all about!
Fringe is another trend I didn’t expect to embrace but have started to despite my reluctance. Since it can span the spectrum from subtle to dramatic, from a small fringe hem on a tank to jacket sleeves fully lined with fringe (for a full-on cowgirl look), it’s surprisingly easy to incorporate.
