Go with the Flow

Since blouses are far too formal for me, and white undershirts make me feel like I belong under the hood of a car, flowy tops are an exemplary alternative. Made of the sheerest of fabrics in fantastically forgiving shapes, they’re the perfect complement to all of the denim options that are resting comfortably in my closet.

The details of Forever 21’s Blooming Floral Blouse are exquisite. With simple flutter sleeves, a tie at the neck and a rouched waistline, I would tuck this in some ridiculously dark, high-waisted jeans.

Development’s Zanadu Flutter Sleeve blouse, though slightly out of my price range at $260, combines some of my favorite colors in a beautifully intricate silhouette. The silk camisole underneath is accented with a sheer chiffon layer that would look killer with skinny jeans and sky-high, patent leather pumps.

Kimchi Blue’s Ruffle Tieback Cami, with scalloped crochet and a ruffle-trimmed neckline, reminds me of vintage lingerie. The little white buttons that run down the front are so unapologetically feminine, that I think a loose-fitting pair of boyfriend jeans would keep these from looking too sugary sweet.
