
I firmly believe that the pour-overs and flat whites G makes at home are the best in the city—but drew the line when he suggested I use the milk alternative he swears by. I had a hard time believing there was a way to improve upon milk. When we recently ran out, I finally acquiesced to using this coconut creamer. To my surprise, it tasted richer without diluting the flavor (it gives just a hint of coconut flavor), and now even whole milk tastes almost watery in comparison. That being said, I’ll make an occasional exception when I come across a coffee shop I have to try—which recently happened when we found this appealing, minimal coffee shop while location-scouting a photoshoot. We turned the happy accident into an impromptu midday break (and photoshoot) over half-caff iced lattes.
P.S., I’ve been experimenting lately with half-caff drinks and green tea, since too much coffee can make me feel unwell. I’d love to hear: What’s your go-to order when you’re looking for a little less caffeine?
