In planning what to wear to a Memorial Day party this weekend, I opted for a pair of red vintage sunglasses, white wide-legged slacks, and a blue gingham top. I threw in a vintage seashell bag since the rest of the look was more crisp and modern. I couldn’t resist the billowy, breezy sleeves on this top that flutter in the wind and the simple, undone bow in back that isn’t too cutesy. It’s festive without being literal, which is my favorite way to embrace holiday dressing. With some wispy pinned braids so I don’t have hair stuck to my neck on a hot afternoon, I’m ready for the long weekend.
