As a huge fan of Tom Binns’ neon necklaces, and all of the subsequent DIY interpretations that followed, I wanted to try out the hand-painted-jewel technique for myself (just use regular nail polish). I wasn’t sure I’d have the patience to finish an entire necklace, so I opted to work with a vintage brooch that I picked up at the flea market this past weekend. And as a little twist on the day-glo classic, I chose peacock-inspired jewel tones for my brooch that I plan on pinning onto vintage scarves (as seen
), bags, and blazer pockets.
