It’s been about six months since we moved to our “new” office in West Hollywood from Hancock Park, but it took us a biiiit of time to get fully settled. After a lot of talk of hiring a professional interior designer, our editorial team decided to take things into their own hands and dive headlong into office decor and organization, so you can (finally!) expect reveals to roll out over the next few months. I didn’t realize how much our office needed a full refresh until we gave it one (I’ve included a ‘before’ photo below), and I’m so genuinely happy to walk into this beautiful space each day.
Our kitchen was one of both the trickiest and simplest areas of our office to freshen-up. Like the rest of our office, it has beautiful “bones” to it. The raw-edge open shelves, brass pulls on the matte-dark blue cabinets, and subway tiles are an easy background to work with. At the same time, it’s the area we have the most difficulty keeping clean. Now that our office is home to eleven people, the kitchen can look like a bomb exploded after lunch—and the fact that it was filled with mismatched mugs and plates didn’t help to inspire anyone to keep things clean. To start, we reached out to one of our favorite dinnerware brands, Year and Day, who generously sent us a range of their dishes in their ‘Midnight’ color. The change was immediate. From there, we didn’t have to do much: We added in a few details, like a candle that burns all day as well as fresh flowers, and established some stricter clean-up rules đŸ˜‰ See photos of our office kitchen below!
