Relaxed Triple Braid

For a party last week, I wanted to do something a little different with my hair. I originally had a braided faux hawk (like this), but the style, paired with my leather shift dress read a little too tough for the occasion. Instead I changed the look slightly to make it a bit more relaxed and romantic. I loved how from the front it’s simple and clean, yet from the back it’s an undone bundle of braids.

Step 1: Part the top section of hair to form a clean, wide “V.”

Step 2: Secure hair you just separated on top of head with a hair tie.

Step 3: Part hair down the back of your head and french braid both sides.

Step 4: Working with the top section of hair, braid it loosely all the way back and secure with an elastic. You should now have three separate braids.

Step 5: Take one of the french braids and loop it across to the other side of your head and under the middle braid, then secure with bobby pins.

Step 6: Repeat step 5 with the other side.
